1. a rule or principle that is used as a basis for judgment
2. a flag, emblematic figure, or other object raised on a pole to indicate the rallying point of an army, fleet, etc.
You have certainly raised these principles, as one would a flag, and held them steadily high.
The standard-bearer lives in a vulnerable place, and that involves self-sacrifice. Thank you for the rallying point, my friend.
